When you create a customer account, book a service order, or buy something, we collect what we need to do the job: your name, phone number, email address, vehicle details, service history, and order history. Payment card numbers are handled by our payment processor (Stripe / Shopify Payments) and are not stored on our servers.

Information you provide to us

Information you provide on or through our Website may include details provided at the time of registering, posting material, requesting further services, reporting a problem with the site, or responding to surveys. It also includes records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us, and details of transactions you carry out through our Website — including service orders, shop orders, and memberships.

Information we collect through automatic data collection technologies

As you navigate through and interact with our Website, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including traffic data, logs, IP address, operating system, and browser type. The technologies we use for automatic data collection may include:

• Cookies. Small files placed on your device. We use a small set of first-party cookies for session management. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser; however, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Website.
• Privacy-respecting analytics. We use a privacy-respecting analytics setup that aggregates page views without building a personal profile.
• Error reporting. We use Sentry for client error reporting so we can fix the bugs we ship. Error events contain technical context (URL, browser, stack trace) but are scrubbed of personal data before transmission.

SMS Communications

Electric Ryder Co. operates an SMS notification program for customers with active service orders. This section describes how that program works, what data we collect, and your rights.

Program purpose

The Electric Ryder Co. SMS program is strictly transactional. We use SMS to send service notifications related to your personal electric vehicle service order — including order confirmations, diagnostic results, repair estimates, status updates (received, in progress, ready for pickup, complete), ETA updates, and replies posted to your service order chat thread. We do not use SMS for marketing or promotional content.

How you opt in

You opt in to the SMS program by either (1) checking the SMS consent box when you create an account or book a service request at service.electricryder.co, or (2) checking the SMS consent box on our in-person service intake form when you bring your vehicle to our shop. In both cases, the consent box is not pre-selected — you must actively check it to opt in.

Message types

Once opted in, you may receive any of the following service-related messages:

• Order confirmation (we’ve got your vehicle and opened a service order).
• Diagnostic results.
• Repair estimate ready for review.
• Status changes (in progress, ready for pickup, complete).
• ETA updates.
• Replies posted to your service order chat thread.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on the progress of your service. Most customers receive between 2 and 6 messages per service order. You can adjust frequency preferences in your account settings at service.electricryder.co/settings.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. Electric Ryder Co. does not charge for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier may. Please contact your carrier with questions about your messaging plan.

Help and opt-out

Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us at team@electricryder.co or (214) 702-9271. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of further SMS notifications. You may also disable SMS notifications at any time from your account settings. After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages from this program.

Non-sharing of mobile numbers

Electric Ryder Co. does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in consent, or any associated data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share your phone number only with service providers strictly necessary to deliver the SMS program (e.g., our SMS delivery vendor Twilio Inc.), under contracts that prohibit them from using your number for any other purpose. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Data we collect for SMS

When you opt in we record: your mobile phone number, the date and time of opt-in, the method of opt-in (web form or in-person), and the version of the disclosure text you consented to. We also retain a log of messages sent to and received from your number for service delivery and dispute resolution.

Supported carriers

The SMS program is available on most major U.S. mobile carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
